⇒Art Tip For Today⇐
I recently listened to a podcast about doing less in your artwork but making it better. It was an interesting thought to me and it caused me to really take a look at how I approach my craft. I notice that when I sit down with my sketchbook just to “practice,” I end up making a lot of drawings that aren’t really that good and that aren’t helping me hone my skills… Instead, what I’ve tried to do is, get out some good quality paper, whatever medium I’ll be working with (usually pen & ink) and get serious about (… I really don’t like that… Focused on?? That’s better) what I’m drawing. Even if it’s just a sphere or a triangle for Pete’s sake! So, I guess to sum up I would say, be engaged with your work and make it the greatest you can!
The tip above was also inspired by this quote:
“Why should I buy expensive art when I can make my own?”

Now, go make something you’re proud of!
